History

The Tyalgum District and surrounding ranges is the traditional lands of Bundjalung aboriginal people.

Tyalgum village and the immediate surrounds were settled by Europeans in the late 1880s. The first industry was logging and timber. The area had vast forests of highly prized cedar. More information here
